George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead
Starring Alan Van Sprang,Kenneth Welsh,Kathleen Munroe,Richard Fitzpatrick,Devon Bostick
Rated R
For those of you who love zombie movie's,and I know there is alot of you here that do,this is a must see.Of all the movie's
that been released in the last 10 years or so,I find this to be somewhat of an orginal idea. The plot of the movie is there
is an island of the coast of Deleware where these two families have been fueding for many years(like the McCoy's and the
Hatfield's) who now have this new problem to deal with, what to do about the zombie problem on their island. One family
believe's they can co-exist with the zombie's while the other feels that the only way to survive is to kill all the zombie's.
Throw in the mix a gang of a.w.o.l. soilders who just want to avoid the zombie outbreak and you have an interesting tale.
The one thing I loved about this movie is the make-up and special effects because with each new zombie movie that comes out
they improve on making the walking dead look more dead and fresh then the previous films released without making them too
gooey. For a Romero film, the idea is fresh and original, and the cast of this film seemed to mesh pretty well.My only gripe
with this movie is I didn't really know any of the actor's but sometimes to use some reletively unknown actor's is better
then big name Hollywood stars due to their egos.So if you want to see a different take on how to survive in a zombie
wasteland, then give this movie a shot.
