Canadian Bacon is called Peameal Bacon or Back Bacon.
any of the three names are acceptable and commonly used when asking for that type of bacon.

and Bacon is just Bacon.

Canadian Bacon is not ham. If you are calling it ham you are mistaken.
It's close to ham in flavor in the way that it is smoked in the US but it is actually not ham

Well we dont actually call it ham, but it is certainly closer to ham than it is to bacon. So when you go to a restaurant you actually order Canadian Bacon huh? very strange.

it depends on the person.
some people call it back bacon, some simply call it canadian bacon and others call it peameal bacon which is the most used term.
it is never referred to simply as bacon though since bacon to us is the the same as bacon to you.

I came across this while I was looking for something else, we call it peameal bacon where I'm from too. Which, incidentally, is not that far from The BLAY.
