Well, it now appears that Terminator: Salavation wasn't the last Terminator flick. Hanover House and Red Bear Entertainment are teaming up to produce Terminator 3000, although it's unsure when this movie will fit in (if at all) to the Terminator mythos. They do appear to basing it off characters and storylines ini Terminator, but no plot points have come out yet. A few things have, though.

1) The budget is reportedly 70 Million (far less than many other Terminator films)
2) The movie will be PG-13, toning down the violence a bit.

Pacificor, LLC now owns the rights to Termninator, and production looks to begin as soon as January of 2011. No plot points or cast members have yet to be announced.

Oh I thought we were getting a new trilogy with the idea of seeing Reese eventually travel back to save Sarah Connor. :(

LESS budget? oh yeah this'll be a good one. I give it the same level of effects as Transmorphers.

From Superherohype:

UPDATE: Maybe the news about the $70 million computer-animated film was premature because now Deadline is reporting that Pacificor, the company that owns the rights to the Terminator franchise have sent a cease and desist letter to Hannover House following the announcement earlier today. Hannover House CEO Eric Parkinson, former head of the Home Video division of Hemdale, who made the original Terminator, claims that he owns the animation rights to the property which weren't included in the sale to Carolco.

Looks like this was set to be an animated, 3D project. What a mess. Somebody call Skynet to sort this out.
