If most of you are fans of military movies then i'm sure you have seen this gem of a classic already, but for those
who haven't seen this then you are in for a treat. The premise of this film is what do you do if you are a Marine who
doesn't have a war to fight? What do you do with the time you have left? Why for Gunny Highway(Eastwood) you train the
next generation of Marines to carry on.Gunny Highway is a lifer in the Corps. who is almost at the end of his career
and facing mandatory retirement,so he takes his last assignment as an instructor for a recon platoon, the only catch is
the platoon has gone soft and don't want Highway to be their platoon sergeant, all the while having to deal with a Major
(played by McGill)who views Highway as relic of an age gone by as the Corps.moves on to a new modern military force, and
trying to maintain a civil relationship with his ex-wife(played by Mason).Van peebles character Corporal "Stitch" Jones
is a great balance to Highway as one is old school Marine and the other just joined to see the world so to speak and
cash in on the title of being a Marine.I love this movie and it's in my top 10 list and as I said at the begining of
this review I feel alot of you may have seen this movie once or twice and when I found out it was released on Blu-ray
it was definetely one I had to get. Also in my opinion this is classic Eastwood one is one of his best performances. So
if you are looking for a movie to rent this weekend and want to be entertained for a few hours then this is a must get.
