Kim Richards




Growing up in the early 80’s and watching boatloads of T.V. made it nigh-impossible to not know who Kim Richards was. As one of the most prolific child actors of the 70’s and early 80’s, she was in everything from diaper ads to episodes of Magnum P.I.. Probably her best know role is that of Tia Malone from Disney’s Witch Mountain series of films. She also did some grown up work in films like the completely wacky Meatballs 2 and the under-appreciated 80’s gem Tuff Turf starring alongside a young Robert Downey Jr. and James Spader.

After Tuff Turf, Kim decided to devote her time to raising her children and retired early from acting. In 2006 she resurfaced with an outstanding performance as Christina Ricci’s estranged mother in Black Snake Moan and also had a cameo role in the 2009 remake of Race to Witch Mountain.



I can easily say that Kim was my very first movie star crush when I was 5 years old. As a result, I was instantly glued to the T.V. anytime she was in something and would commonly refer to her as my T.V. girlfriend to all my Kindergarten buddies.

Today, the 46 year old Mother of 4 still looks great and we can only hope to see her continue her Hollywood comeback. If all else fails, she can always namedrop her infamous Niece Paris Hilton to generate some buzz from the paparazzi.

Yeah she was a cutie. And I have seen a number of the movies you mentioned.
