I am very excited for this game...It is announced as being official canon for the backstory, and it just looks cool all around.
I played the mutiplayer demo last night and had a blast. The Transformers you get to pick from are of course very limited, but it appears as though you get to customize them and there are a lot of different classes of warriors to choose from/create in the full game. The weaponry was cool, and lots of different options and upgrades to unlock. The controls were tight, and the different things your character can do work very well in the game. Soldiers are big and tough, and have more powerful weaponry, while scouts are fast and agile. Things like being able to hover in the air, boosting, and turning invisible all were good, though I must say that transforming into vehicle mode seemed to only make me more of a target more than anything and I didn't see much benefit from it at this point.

Overall the multiplayer has seemed to borrow a ton of things from Call of Duty in it's presentation of character options (complete with gaining "perks" and xp) and gameplay modes. The rest of the action is third person, and fast paced. I noticed that the initial offering in the full game lists 8 maps to play on but knowing Activision, we will see many more things to come a la dlc at inflated prices (again like Call of Duty and any music game).

I don't know if it is my excitement over playing as a Transformer that draws me to it or the gameplay but I am an mediocre multiplayer shooting game guy at best, playing here and there on a recreational level (I'm more into the single player elements of games). However, I found myself racking up a good amount of kills and felt the gameplay is really fun, fast, and controls well, making me want to play more.

My only other gripe is the other players or hosts, who ended the matches at the last second every time their team was about to lose a match. I hope there is some sort of penalty for that in game...

Great review Stronox I played last night a few times it was very good and wondered why matches suddenly ended. I hope we get to play more established characters than the ones on the demo for X-Box. And also hope it isn't like Shadowrrun which is just an on-line game with no single player off-line story.

No worries there man...The game has two complete single player story campaigns, one for Autobots, one for Decepticons, and has been made the official backstory for Transformers lore.

My best guess is that the more established characters will be for the single player experience and that we make our own for multiplayer. But, that is just a guess. Though I wonder because Shockwave is a Gamestop exclusive character and wonder how characters fit into the main story part. Maybe there will be both established and make your own styled characters in the multiplayer...We'll find out soon enough I guess!!
